Pray for the political leaders in the nation based on 1 Tim 2:1-4

Pray for the leadership of the church standing on Eph 4:11-16

Isaiah 45:1-6

Pray that God would release the Cyrus anointing to the LoveZim visionary and team.

God has loosed the loins of kings to open the leaved gates. This talks of kings in the market place whose hearts God has already prepared to finance this vision. As Adrian networks with people pray that he discerns and sees the prepared people and God gives him the right words to speak.

Vs2 God has gone before the team and is making the crooked places straight. God himself will break in pieces the hard hearts and prepare people to give to sustain this vision.

Vs3 The promise in this verse of treasures of darkness is exciting, let us claim it in prayer and surely shall come to pass.

Vs5 Continue to magnify the Name of the Lord and give him all the glory.

Isaiah 41:17-21 As we pray for the poor of Zimbabwe, let us also pray for the fulfillment of this prophecy for Israel, pray for the peace of Jerusalem, they prosper who love her.

Isaiah 60:4-6 Pray for the sons and daughters in the diaspora, to gather and turn their hearts in prayer for the nation and to give to the transformation of the nation. Pray that each person will find their place on the wall and work to rebuild. Neh 2:17

Isaiah 58 is the prophetic anchor scripture for the Trumpet Call vision. Pray though the plans and purposes of God for Zimbabwe.

Gen 49:22 Pray that Zimbabwe may be the fruitful land that God planned it to be as we farm God’s way.

Change of date: Sunday 30th October 2011

The date for the LoveZim Prayer Network has changed to Sunday October 30th. This is to coincide with changes in Zimbabwe and to enable us, as a team, to build momentum and energy. It also gives you more time to plan your time and day.

Peter Cunningham (Member of Trumpet Call Executive and Director of Operation Trumpet Call, Zimbabwe) says: Trumpet Call in Zimbabwe has changed the format to having several inter-church meetings in each city within the zones, instead of one big city wide gathering. This will allow opportunity for greater involvement, organization and response from the pastors etc.

The meetings in Zimbabwe take place over a few days in October, hence the desire to change the date in the UK.

Please let us know what you are planning to do via the website or our facebook page… And don’t forget to ‘share the love’ and make your friends aware of this amazing opportunity. It’s easy to do, just hit the ‘share’ button on our facebook page and post the link to your wall or click the link at the bottom of any of our website pages.

Thanks for standing with us…

We’ll be back soon.

LoveZim Team

There is a quiet revolution going on in Zimbabwe. From the places of our brokenness, something beautiful is coming to life. Our Zimbabwe based partner, Foundations for Farming, through church networks have been training and encouraging rural farmers to grow enough food to feed the country.

To achieve this, our farmers will need to raise their productivity at least 10 fold from the current 0.3 tonnes per hectare to at least 3 tonnes per hectare. Most are doing just that, some are achieving much more – the average is currently ranging from 4-5 tonnes/ha.

This program is changing Zimbabwe one village at a time. And from being recipients of food aid, our farmers are becoming the production engine for the nation. We believe this calls for celebration!

Join us on the 27th of August 2011 in Leeds to hear Foundations for Farming founder, Brian Oldrieve, share this astounding story.

17 August 2011

Last year saw the launch of something potentially nation changing. Thousands of people across the world stood in prayer with a common vision, to see the Church in Zimbabwe united, transformed and helping the poor by training them to farm in a profitable and sustainable way.

As a team of volunteers we had no idea just how impacting this could be and apologize for all the unanswered questions and people left wondering if this will happen again. The answer however is yes! We will be standing with Zimbabwe once again on September 25th to pray and seek God’s heart for the nation.

We have just had the privilege of hosting Brian Oldreive, founder of Foundations for Farming, and I managed to grab a few minutes with him. He said:

‘The International Prayer Day is not a one day wonder, it’s a process that needs momentum. In 2010 fifty-five demonstrations of the farming methods we teach in Foundations for Farming were provided in different areas of Zimbabwe and of all those that we managed to reach and teach, those that listened and planted to standard, on time and with joy reaped great success. Those that planted late were astounded by the difference as their crops failed. Everyone, however, received these principles deep in their hearts’.

Since the prayer day in 2010 we (Zimbabwe) are 1 million tons short of the nation’s required food and we are having to import. It’s been an extremely difficult season with 30 days of no rain in the critical stages of growth. We are encouraged however that there is growing momentum in the farming model.

So, we need to press on, we need to seek God again for this beautiful nation. Please join us, please tell your friends and family and help make a difference to many lives.

When commercial farmer, Maas Kirk, heard the message of Trumpet Call on 26 September, he immediately set about doing his bit to make the possibility of every Christian household planting maize this agricultural season, a reality.

Kirk decided to allocate 25m x 25m pieces of land to each one of the 65 workers on his Aldington Farm, past Beatrice, in Mashonaland West so that they would be able to feed themselves in the 2010/2011 season. And because he wanted them to use Foundations for Farming (FfF) methods, he invited the FfF team based at River of Life Westgate in Harare to train his workers.

During the training, which took place about three weeks after the Trumpet Call September events were held around the country, the FfF team was able to peg one 25m x 25m piece of land and draw up five lines, besides establishing a well-watered garden.

Three other well-watered gardens were established in the nearby Manhanzva Kraal where Kirk is helping to support vulnerable members of the community such as those with HIV/AIDS and the aged. There, the FfF team taught participants how to make compost to minimise their reliance on fertilizer. They emphasised to the community the importance of being faithful with little and taught about the dangers of dependence on aid. The FfF also showed the participants about how mulch was God’s way of preserving moisture. Many of the older people attending the training said this method of agriculture reminded them of some of the ancient practices they were taught as children.

Operation Trumpet Call (OTC) is the training programme through which the hopes of the Trumpet Call! initiative to feed the nation of Zimbabwe through the Church are being put into action.

In recent weeks the OTC team have been out to their model sites set up throughout Zimbabwe and they have issued them with signage. The model sites have been set up to be places where Foundations for Farming is demonstrated to a very high standard. The hope is that when people see the signs and the excellent farming standards they will be struck and drawn to join the vision.

Wessie van der Westhuizen, the director of OTC, visited the OTC site in Tsholotsho, 100km north west of Bulawayo. He reports, "Some improvement is definitely needed at one site, but we found some incredible faithful men and women at others. They are also so proud of these signs once they are handed to them and we trust that they will have a wonderful effect on the community as people pass them and inquire what it is all about."

On the 26 September 2010, it was arranged that people would gather to pray and hear the vision of Trumpet Call! at each of the OTC sites. Wessie reports, "Most had very positive news from their meetings and although it seems that it could have all been much better supported, yet with the limited time they had to gather people, it seems satisfactory for a start."

Please be in prayer for the OTC team:

for protection as they travel hundreds of kilometres to visit the model sites

for gifting in training the men and women on the ground

for the great deal of administration that needs to be done for the project to be rolled out

for funds to come in to support the programme

Please pray for each of the farmers at the model sites:

for them to be faithful in implementing all that they are taught about Foundations for Farming

for good rains this season so that their crops grow to an excellent standard that speaks volumes into their communities

for them to be faithful witnesses of the true Gospel as they demonstrate the gospel through their lifestyles

for them to be generous in sharing what they have learnt with their communities

Committed to Seeking God

1-3 "Listen to me, all you who are serious about right living and committed to seeking God. Ponder the rock from which you were cut, the quarry from which you were dug. Yes, ponder Abraham, your father, and Sarah, who bore you. Think of it! One solitary man when I called him, but once I blessed him, he multiplied. Likewise I, God, will comfort Zion, comfort all her mounds of ruins. I’ll transform her dead ground into Eden, her moonscape into the garden of God, A place filled with exuberance and laughter, thankful voices and melodic songs. 4-6"Pay attention, my people. Listen to me, nations. Revelation flows from me. My decisions light up the world. My deliverance arrives on the run, my salvation right on time. I’ll bring justice to the peoples. Even faraway islands will look to me and take hope in my saving power. Look up at the skies, ponder the earth under your feet. The skies will fade out like smoke, the earth will wear out like work pants, and the people will die off like flies. But my salvation will last forever, my setting-things-right will never be obsolete.

7-8"Listen now, you who know right from wrong, you who hold my teaching inside you: Pay no attention to insults, and when mocked don’t let it get you down. Those insults and mockeries are moth-eaten, from brains that are termite-ridden, But my setting-things-right lasts, my salvation goes on and on and on."

9-11Wake up, wake up, flex your muscles, God! Wake up as in the old days, in the long ago. Didn’t you once make mincemeat of Rahab, dispatch the old chaos-dragon? And didn’t you once dry up the sea, the powerful waters of the deep, and then made the bottom of the ocean a road for the redeemed to walk across? In the same way God’s ransomed will come back, come back to Zion cheering, shouting, Joy eternal wreathing their heads, exuberant ecstasies transporting them— and not a sign of moans or groans.

What Are You Afraid of—or Who? 12-16"I, I’m the One comforting you. What are you afraid of—or who? Some man or woman who’ll soon be dead? Some poor wretch destined for dust? You’ve forgotten me, God, who made you, who unfurled the skies, who founded the earth. And here you are, quaking like an aspen before the tantrums of a tyrant who thinks he can kick down the world. But what will come of the tantrums? The victims will be released before you know it. They’re not going to die. They’re not even going to go hungry. For I am God, your very own God, who stirs up the sea and whips up the waves, named God-of-the-Angel-Armies. I teach you how to talk, word by word, and personally watch over you, Even while I’m unfurling the skies, setting earth on solid foundations, and greeting Zion: ‘Welcome, my people!’"

17-20So wake up! Rub the sleep from your eyes! Up on your feet, Jerusalem! You’ve drunk the cup God handed you, the strong drink of his anger. You drank it down to the last drop, staggered and collapsed, dead-drunk. And nobody to help you home, no one among your friends or children to take you by the hand and put you in bed. You’ve been hit with a double dose of trouble —does anyone care? Assault and battery, hunger and death —will anyone comfort? Your sons and daughters have passed out, strewn in the streets like stunned rabbits, Sleeping off the strong drink of God’s anger, the rage of your God.

21-23Therefore listen, please, you with your splitting headaches, You who are nursing the hangovers that didn’t come from drinking wine.Your Master, your God, has something to say, your God has taken up his people’s case: "Look, I’ve taken back the drink that sent you reeling. No more drinking from that jug of my anger! I’ve passed it over to your abusers to drink, those who ordered you, ‘Down on the ground so we can walk all over you!’ And you had to do it. Flat on the ground, you were the dirt under their feet."

Isaiah 52 – Taken from the Message Bible

God Is Leading You Out of Here

1-2 Wake up, wake up! Pull on your boots, Zion! Dress up in your Sunday best, Jerusalem, holy city! Those who want no part of God have been culled out. They won’t be coming along. Brush off the dust and get to your feet, captive Jerusalem! Throw off your chains, captive daughter of Zion! 3God says, "You were sold for nothing. You’re being bought back for nothing."

4-6Again, the Master, God, says, "Early on, my people went to Egypt and lived, strangers in the land. At the other end, Assyria oppressed them. And now, what have I here?" God’s Decree. "My people are hauled off again for no reason at all. Tyrants on the warpath, whooping it up, and day after day, incessantly, my reputation blackened. Now it’s time that my people know who I am, what I’m made of—yes, that I have something to say. Here I am!"

7-10How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of the messenger bringing good news, Breaking the news that all’s well,
proclaiming good times, announcing salvation, telling Zion, "Your God reigns!" Voices! Listen! Your scouts are shouting, thunderclap shouts, shouting in joyful unison. They see with their own eyes God coming back to Zion. Break into song! Boom it out, ruins of Jerusalem: "God has comforted his people! He’s redeemed Jerusalem!" God has rolled up his sleeves. All the nations can see his holy, muscled arm. Everyone, from one end of the earth to the other, sees him at work, doing his salvation work.

11-12Out of here! Out of here! Leave this place! Don’t look back. Don’t contaminate yourselves with plunder. Just leave, but leave clean. Purify yourselves in the process of worship, carrying the holy vessels of God. But you don’t have to be in a hurry. You’re not running from anybody! God is leading you out of here, and the God of Israel is also your rear guard.

It Was Our Pains He Carried 13-15"Just watch my servant blossom! Exalted, tall, head and shoulders above the crowd! But he didn’t begin that way. At first everyone was appalled. He didn’t even look human— a ruined face, disfigured past recognition. Nations all over the world will be in awe, taken aback, kings shocked into silence when they see him. For what was unheard of they’ll see with their own eyes, what was unthinkable they’ll have right before them."

The day was hot but streams of people braved the heat and gathered at White City Stadium to pray for our nation Zimbabwe, on Sunday 26 September 2010.

There was probably a total of 3,000 people who attended. Although it was hot, the atmosphere was great. Praise and worship was led by the band from Word of Life Church. They did a fantastic job of singing songs that most people knew. Vibrant song and dance got everyone in the spirit of unity. It was awesome.

The presence of God was felt and the prayer was a great beginning step for the Church to lead the way in shaping Zimbabwe. Kenneth Chirimuta opened in prayer. Mrs Zulu who is part of the Zimbabwe Catholic Bishops Conference did an incredible job. She read from Genesis 1 and spoke about creation and man in creation (v26). We are meant to take our stand in creation and take dominion. The speeches went well: Overseer Nhira spoke on unity, being relevant as Christians and feeding ourselves as a nation. The prayer was led by various church leaders on different aspects pertaining to Zimbabwe on being passionate for God, passionate for each other and passionate about our nation. Mbonisi Malaba was very good as he shared the heart, science and technology of Foundations for Farming.

Comments from a few people:

Interesting to see Catholics and Pentecostals together.

It was brilliant, especially the unity – everyone presenting a unified front and we got a sense of the Church on mission and the Church taking its place in leading the nation.

Seeing about 200 pastors from different churches on the podium was wonderful.

The meeting is but the beginning of churches working together. The pastors were very encouraged.

In a country that has historically been torn by division, the meetings that took place in Harare, Bulawayo, Marondera, Gweru, Masvingo, Kadoma, Glendale, Gwanda, Hwange and Chegutu were a powerful prophetic declaration of the Church being one in Christ.

In Harare, about 7,000 people from different denominations and races braved the scorching midday sun to meet at Civic Centre Grounds. Angus Buchan, a well-known South African farmer and evangelist, gave a brief message of exhortation to the crowd and encouraged the church not to look back but to move forward as one in Christ. Dr Goodwill Shana, who chairs the Heads of Christian Denominations (HOCD) which has representatives from EFZ (Evangelical grouping), ZCBC (Catholic grouping) and ZCC (Protestant grouping), talked about what a trumpet call meant in the bible and encouraged the body of Christ to rise and be like Nehemiah, Joseph and Esther. He called for passion for God, each other and the nation. Scott Marques who leads Newfrontiers in Zimbabwe and who has been coordinating the Trumpet Call initiative talked about Foundations for Farming and it’s relevance for Zimbabwe at this time in its history. Meanwhile, Foundations for Farming’s Brian Oldreive and leaders from different churches in the city led the Church in prayers of repentance and petitions for rain, peace, prosperity and unity. Pastor Tom Deuschle of Celebration Church gave an exhortation for the Church to plant maize and to give generously. This was demonstrated visibly as the Church gave money towards Trumpet Call and responded with sincerity and hearts of worship towards Jesus. Many who left the meeting said they were greatly encouraged and determined to plant maize by 24 November this year, no matter how little land they had, and to take care of the poor.

In Bulawayo, about 5,000 people from different churches and backgrounds gathered at White City Stadium. They were addressed by Reverend Nhira from the Apostolic Faith Mission Church and heard the message of Isaiah 58, Foundations for Farming and the Church’s desire to see every Christian household planting maize in the coming season to avert famine. This same message rang out in the other cities where Trumpet Call meetings were attended by numbers ranging between 100 and 600 people. In Marondera less than 100 people went to the Trumpet Call gathering while in Mutare, the meeting had to be postponed.

Members of the organising team expressed excitement at seeing what God was doing in terms of unity in the church, but said they were disappointed by the modest turnout. ”I would have loved the crowd to be ten times bigger but I think people were looking and moving in the right direction and we must not forget that,” said Scott Marques, who led the organising team.

”When God does something prophetic, it’s not always with a big bang,” Dr Shana said after the Harare event adding that the momentum should continue and that preparations for planting by 24 November should begin.

”With the constraints we faced, what happened here was excellent,” said Brian Oldreive after attending the meeting in Harare. ”The Holy Spirit came in power and God sent the ones he wanted – the remnant. I felt a Spirit of faithfulness and God is going to multiply,” he said adding that the meetings were just a beginning.

”Without vision my people perish and a seed of vision and knowledge was sown today. The word will not return void,” Brian said in encouragement.
